Center for Energy and Environment (CEE), in partnership with the City of Minneapolis, CenterPoint Energy and Xcel Energy, piloted Community Energy Services in 2009 to educate homeowners on how to save energy and money in their homes, and it’s grown in popularity and success each year. Homeowners who have participated in the program received a customized home energy visit from a crew of two energy professionals that included the installation of energy saving materials and diagnostic tests to show how their home uses energy. The crews provided recommendations for energy efficient upgrades as well as information on financing and rebates to help make improvements affordable.
In 2013, the Community Energy Services program became Home Energy Squad Enhanced. Homeowners will still receive the same great products, services, and consultation with the very experienced crews, just under a different name.
