EARTH DAY Saturday April 25th 9:30am-Noon at Columbia Park

Earth Day Cleanup is held at several sites throughout the City of Minneapolis. It is a collaborative effort between the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) and City of Minneapolis Solid Waste and Recycling.

CPNA sponsors our clean up at Columbia Park near the playground.  Come on out and pick up a bag and gloves to help keep our park and neighborhood clean.  Can’t make it to the park (and have a muffin), take a few minutes to pick up debris in the street and alley by your house.

The goal of Earth Day Cleanup is to provide a volunteer experience and environmental education to Minneapolis residents and park users. This annual event involves cleaning Minneapolis parks, neighborhoods, watersheds and water bodies including the Chain of Lakes, Lake Nokomis, Lake Hiawatha, Powderhorn Lake, Diamond Lake, Shingle Creek, Minnehaha Creek, Bassett’s Creek and the Mississippi River. Since the inception of the Earth Day cleanup we have removed more than 140,000 pounds of garbage from Minneapolis parks
