RE: Preservation ordinance text amendment
Amending Title 23 of the Minneapolis Code of Ordinances as follows:
Amending Chapter 599 related to Heritage Preservation: Heritage Preservation Regulations
The purpose of the amendment is to modify regulations governing Heritage Preservation Commission membership.
The Heritage Preservation Commission will meet on Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at 4:30 p.m., in Room 317 City Hall, 350 South 5th Street, Minneapolis, MN. Interested parties are invited to attend and be heard. Planning Department staff will issue a recommendation to the Heritage Preservation Commission. After hearing from the public, the Heritage Preservation Commission will make a determination based on required legal findings of fact. Please visit http://www.minneapolismn.gov/meetings/hpc/index.htm for the agenda with staff reports (web page will be updated by the end of the day Monday prior to the meeting date).
In accordance with the Preservation Ordinance, all property owners within 350 feet of the subject property are notified of this public hearing. Organics Recycling Training Sessions: learn how to collect organics at home for composting
Come to one of two sessions to get your organics recycling questions answered with hands-on learning, demonstrations and tips that make organics recycling easier in your home. Learn what happens to organics once they are collected. Pick up a yard sign to promote the organics recycling program. Organics kitchen collection containers will be distributed to attendees while supplies last.

Tenant Engagement Work Group
You are invited to the next Tenant Engagement Work Group meeting on September 22, 2016 from 6:00-7:30pm at Van Cleve Recreation Center. Presented by the Department of Regulatory Services and the University District Alliance, this meeting is an opportunity to learn about Regulatory Services programs that impact tenants, including housing code and parking enforcement. There will also be time to share your input, questions and concerns with department staff.

During each Home Energy Squad visit, a team of energy experts will evaluate energy saving opportunities in your home and install materials to help you start saving on the spot — including door weather stripping, a water heater blanket, high-efficiency light bulbs and water fixtures, and a programmable thermostat. The visit may also include:
- A blower door test to measure your home for air leaks
- An insulation inspection your attic and walls using an infrared camera.
- A safety check your home’s heating system and water heater.
- An Energy Fitness Plan with a prioritized list of energy improvements and financing information.
