Nicollet Mall Redesign

On Wednesday, February 19, the City of Minneapolis, the Minneapolis Downtown Council and James Corner Field Operations, which is leading the Nicollet Mall redesign, will present the first round of design ideas for one of Minnesota’s premier main streets. The free event will take place in Pohlad Hall at the Central Library from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., with opportunities for the public to share thoughts and hear from the design team. Northeast Investment Co-op

NEIC has begun renovation of the building it purchased in May 2013 at 2506 Central Avenue. (Recovery Bike Shop bought the adjacent building, 2504 Central, from NEIC.) Demolition at the 2506 building began on September 17, though completion will require additional funds acquired via increased membership.  Request details by sending a note to
Two businesses–Aki’s Bread Haus and Fair State Brewing Co-operative–have signed leases to occupy the north and south portions, respectively, of the 2506 building.
