MWMO Stormwater Park and Learning Center, 2522 Marshall St. NE

The Mississippi Watershed Management Organization invites you to join them for an evening of community, canoeing and cookies. Stop by anytime between 5 and 8 pm for a free introductory canoe ride on the Mississippi River, then grab a free cookie from Cookie Cart and enjoy a variety of fun and educational activities at MWMO’s Stormwater Park and Learning Center. This family-friendly event is great for kids and adults of all ages. (Please note that you must weigh at least 30 lbs. in order to fit the provided life jackets.) In addition to learning to paddle on the river, participants also will have opportunities to learn about the Mississippi River’s history, water quality, plants, animals and more. Canoe rides will be led by guides from Wilderness Inquiry, with support from National Park Service rangers from the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area and Mississippi Park Connection staff. Attendees are advised to use on-street parking, as the MWMO’s parking lot will be off-limits for the event. Bike parking, a Nice Ride station and bus transit options are also available in the area.
